Q.T's Cocktail Lounge

When I found this former poorhouse that doubled as a multipurpose room, it had much to be desired. It was clear to me that this space was meant to be dramatic, but I also wanted to add elements of functionality and neutrality that would allow it to keep its multipurpose ability. The first thing that had to go was the tile. Nothing screamed "boring 80's" to me the way the tile did. It was pivotal that the floor could withstand the test of time while still holding to the themes of drama. I settle for a beige and grey 24X24 checkerboard tile in a diamond pattern. IT. WAS. PERFECT! That small change instantly brought the space to life.
